چکیده
Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) as a chronic disease makes some influence to all organic systems in the body. Some of these changes affect nervous system (different kinds neuropathies), and kind immune response disorders could be expected. Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument (MNSI) is used assess distal symmetrical peripheral neuropathy DM. Aim: This research study aimed population diabetic patients with MNSI check duration DM on response. Inflammatory markers (CRP; Le; SE) cytokines (IL-6, Il-1β, TNF-α, TGF-β) were measure Method: The included 100 participants type 2 (men women) 30 healthy control group. All examined through regular examination General Hospital Tešanj, BiH. divided into 3 groups, by criteria DMT2 first group 32 less than 10 years (group A); second 35 10-20 B) third 33 more 20 C). participants. status distribution groups (sensitivity 93.3%, specificity 25%). Cut-off values were: ≤2.5 points without neuropathy; 2.5-7- I stage, ≥7.5 stage II. ELISA test was performed for measurement cytokines. Results: results have shown that: 7 had ≤2.5; 31 2.5-7 p, 54 ≥7.5. Groups A (n=4) B (n=3) similar number neuropathy. (n=22) C (n=20) II No significant difference between found. Statistically correlations found IL-6 (R=0.402, p=0.025); CRP (R=0.784, p=0.0001); (R=0.500, p=0.034). statistically inflammatory markers. Also, not HbA1C MNSI, Discussion: Previous studies conducted impact hyperglycemia environment body, positive correlation. However, there no that measured different periods processes. unique because score showed correlation only duration. an increase across according other cytokines, especially TGF-β1, Subsequent should look at effect drugs which treat glycaemia concomitant diseases.

Correlation of Michigan neuropathy screening instrument, United Kingdom screening test and electrodiagnosis for early detection of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
BACKGROUND Almost half of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathies (DPNs) are symptom-free. Methods including questionnaires and electrodiagnosis (EDx) can be fruitful for easy reach to early diagnosis, correct treatments of diabetic neuropathy, and so decline of complications for instance diabetic foot ulcer and prevention of high costs. The goal of our study was to compare effectiveness of the Michig...

Background: Diabetic Neuropathy is the most common and troublesome complication of Diabetes Mellitus, leading to the greatest morbidity and mortality and resulting in a huge economic burden for diabetes care. Early diagnosis of distal symmetric sensorimotor polyneuropathy, a common complication of diabetes, may decrease morbidity by allowing potential therapeutic interventions. Methods: In 6...
